Government Sector

The Government sector team is responsible for ensuring we deliver the full capabilities and expertise of the HSBC Group to our government clients in key markets across Africa. Our client segment constitutes the following:

  • Municipalities & state governments
  • Supranational / regional development banks

  • Sovereign wealth funds

We are at the forefront of developing and driving strategic relationships and content with government clients. The Johannesburg-based relationship team co-ordinates the Group's resources across products, such as Project and Export Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Asset Management, Credit and Lending and Custody. This enables us to provide our clients with integrated strategic and bespoke financing solutions. Recognising the complex and constantly evolving needs of our clients, the coverage approach reflects these unique requirements and the team seeks to share knowledge and grow with our clients focusing on long-term relationships and continuity of coverage.
