The HSBC Group is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. After obtaining a South African banking licence in 2004, we restructured our operations in sub-Saharan Africa in 2005 to focus on our Corporate, Investment Banking and Markets (CIBM) clients. January 2007 saw the opening of our Commercial Banking unit, providing banking solutions to commercial clients as well.

The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited - Johannesburg branch, which employs over 120 staff. Our operations in the region now cover Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking, Global Investment Banking, Transaction Banking (Trade Services and Payments and Cash Management), Treasury and Capital Markets and Equities. In addition we have a team which focuses on our offshore PremierBanking clients needs.

	Ambitious global schools project celebrates five rivers from five countries 15 April 2008, Cape Town. Spectacular works of art created through an international project called Rivers of the World, linking 1 800 learners in 58 schools across the globe, will go on display at an exhibition in Company Gardens, Government Ave in Cape Town from 22 April to 22 May.
